Olympic Staff Ashikaga Golf Course
One of the representative Japanese golf courses by Nicklaus Design, a company led by world-renowned course designer and former pro golfer Jack Nicklaus. It was designed "To captivate the viewer with its spectacular views and create a world-class championship course with excellent strategic performance and beautiful scenery that stimulates the golfers' senses."
It opened in 2001, this course is loved by golfers who enjoy being challenged. Although it is a membership club, visitors are welcome to use the restaurant, lockers, shower facilities, and shop in the cozy clubhouse.
Location
It is located about 95 kilometers (about 59 miles) north of the center of Tokyo. It can be reached as quickly as 75 minutes from central Tokyo by car.
The course is located on the route to Nikko, where Toshogu, a world cultural heritage site, is located, and Lake Chuzenji. The area has many hot springs. If your schedule allows, we recommend taking your time and exploring this beautiful area.
The Sano Premium Outlet Mall is located 15 minutes from the golf course by car (operating hours: 10:00–20:00), and you can enjoy shopping on the way home.

Features
Although the course is hilly, it absorbs differences in elevation between holes, so every hole is relatively flat. It is a challenging course with 92 bunkers and 6 water hazards on 18 holes. The fairways are covered with creeping bentgrass L-93 and are covered with green grass all year round.
